A Path Less Traveled: Masbate (Part 5 – 7AR Golden Beach Resort)

On our last day in Masbate, we decided to spend it in the new resort right next to Rendezvous Hotel – the 7AR Golden Beach Resort. If you want upscale accommodation in Masbate City, this is the closest you could get. But do not expect five star facilities and service. The resort is the newest one along Punta Nursery. Entrance fee is Php 150 per pax from 6:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Php 200 from 4:00 pm onwards. It is already inclusive of monobloc tables and chairs for your perusal, but if you want to rent one of their huts, feel free to do so, for a minimum fee.
It has an adult pool, a kiddie pool and a separate jacuzzi area. You need not worry about getting sunburnt, as they have a parasol that lessens your chances of getting baked in the heat of the sun.
This is the jacuzzi located near the restaurant. There is a separate fee for its usage.
This one looks like a pool, or a lagoon. Well, that I am really not sure. But I saw kayaks here.
Room rates at 7AR Golden Beach Resort starts at Php 2,500 for 2 pax inclusive of pool usage and breakfast. Extra pax is charged at Php 200 per pax plus pool usage of Php 150 and Php 100 for breakfast. A bit expensive for me.
I ordered Buko Shake hoping that it was as good as the one in Coco Grove Beach Resort in Siquijor (the best I had so far). But my expectations were not met. =(
If you want decent food in Masbate, 7AR Golden Beach Resort is one of the restaurants that you would probably enjoy. They serve Filipino dishes with Bicolano flair. Too bad the Golden Chili Crabs were not available that time.
The prices are reasonable enough.
The serving size is generally good for 2 to 3 pax. We  ordered Bicol Express, Sizzling Sisig and Seafood Pancit. All of which passed our standards. In fairness.
Bicol Express
Seafood Pancit
Sizzling Sisig
Of the three, I like the Seafood Pancit. Oh and by the way, 7AR Golden Beach Resort restaurant is wired! Free wi-fi for everyone!
