Marriott Manila welcomed their new general manager with a chic cocktail bash at the hotel’s ballroom last Tuesday, March 20, 2012.
Mr. Scott Sibley, Marriott Manila’s newly-appointed general manager has been with Marriott Guam Resort Spa for six years. An industry veteran, Scott takes pride that he started his career in the kitchen. For fourteen years, he was the hotel operations manager and executive chef before the opportunity came in to become a general manager at the Renaissance Dubai Hotel, his first property to hold the highest position.
His sociable and yet strategic in thinking gave Scott several achievements under his belt which include working for Marriott’s thirteen different properties around the world—Florida, California, Hawaii, Dubai, Canada and was also task force and opened hotels in Singapore, Vietnam, Australia, UAE, USA, including Philippines (Marriott Cebu).
The event also showcased Marriott Hotel’s finest cocktail offerings, having several cocktail stations around the ballroom.
One can’t go wrong with their fish fingers with a plethora of dips and sauces.
A sushi and sashimi station makes anyone with Japanese cuisine affinity stand in awe with their freshly prepared tuna sashimi and California maki.
For an added Asian feel, a dimsum bar that offers hot chicken wanton soup with myriad garnishes and seasonings is also present.
And my favorite station – chocolates! These handmade chocolate bars have coarsely chopped nuts on premium dark, white and milk chocolate.
A bar of chocolate a day keeps the blues away!
The most sinful of them all – Mariott Hotel’s chocolate brownies. These chewy and luscious bars are divine.
Who says you have to go to Baguio to have these bursting plump strawberries?
Refreshing punch for everyone.
